Arkadia Space
Arkadia Space, founded in 2020 and headquartered in Castellón de la Plana on Spain's Costa Azahar, is an in-space propulsion company developing and commercialising high-performance chemical propulsion systems using green propellants. The company operates Europe's first fully privately managed orbital engine Test Center at Castellón Airport — a facility enabling rapid development and testing of propulsion prototypes — and works with institutional partners including ESA and the Spanish Space Agency. This Legal Specialist and Compliance Officer role covers the full spectrum of legal and regulatory functions for a fast-growing propulsion company operating in a highly regulated international environment. Core responsibilities include drafting, negotiating, and managing commercial contracts with private clients, institutional partners, and government agencies; managing export control compliance across applicable frameworks including the EU Dual Use Regulation and US ITAR/EAR; establishing and monitoring internal compliance policies; supporting IP protection and strategy across patents and trademarks; and advising on corporate governance and risk management. The role is particularly well suited to space law practitioners with experience in export controls and institutional procurement who are seeking an in-house position at an emerging European propulsion company. Familiarity with the EU Space Regulation and Spain's draft Ley de Actividades Espaciales is explicitly valued. Up to 8 days of remote work per month are available, and relocation support is offered.
