Amazon (Amazon Leo)
Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network, with a mission to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers and organisations operating beyond the reach of existing terrestrial networks — including government agencies, schools, hospitals, and enterprises in underserved locations worldwide. It represents one of the most significant commercial LEO deployments currently in progress and sits at the intersection of space technology, federal procurement, and strategic connectivity policy. This Corporate Counsel role joins the Amazon Leo Legal team to support the programme's government contracts portfolio. The postholder will review and analyse government contract solicitations and proposals, draft and negotiate subcontracts and technology development agreements, advise on intellectual property matters and export control compliance (ITAR/EAR), and develop scalable legal processes that balance regulatory compliance with business agility. The role works at the nexus of space technology, federal acquisition law, and satellite communications regulation — making it highly relevant to space law practitioners with government contracting backgrounds who are looking to move in-house at a major commercial LEO operator. Daily collaboration with Amazon Leo business teams, engineers, and programme managers is central to the role. US citizenship is required due to the nature of the work. An active security clearance or eligibility to obtain one is preferred.
