Trinity Hall is one of Cambridge's oldest colleges, founded in 1350 with a long tradition of legal scholarship, and the Lauterpacht Centre for International Law is one of the world's leading specialist centres for the study and development of public international law. This three-year Early Career Fellowship is a joint appointment between the two institutions, offering a rare combination of independent research time, undergraduate teaching at Cambridge, and full integration into the Lauterpacht Centre's scholarly community. The Fellow will pursue an independent research project of international standing in any area of international law, while delivering undergraduate supervisions for Trinity Hall students — approximately four to six hours per week during term. The College has particular current teaching needs in European Law and Human Rights Law, both of which intersect directly with space governance debates around jurisdiction, liability, and the application of international humanitarian law to outer space. The postholder will be nominated for a Staff Fellowship at Trinity Hall, contribute to College governance, and be provided with desk space at the Lauterpacht Centre. The Fellowship includes dining rights, research expense support, and potentially free residential accommodation in College. For early-career international law scholars with research interests touching on space law, this position offers an outstanding institutional base and intellectual environment.
