Law Honors Intern – Office of the Chief Counsel
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)
| Location | Washington, D.C., United States |
| Contract | Internship |
| Salary | Not specified |
| Deadline | Open until filled |
The FAA's Office of the Chief Counsel (AGC) provides in-house legal services across the full range of the agency's regulatory and operational functions, including regulatory law, federal procurement, information law, airport and environmental law, labour and employment, national security, international law, and legislation. It represents the FAA before federal courts in conjunction with the Department of Justice, and before the NTSB, Merit Systems Protection Board, and EEOC. As the primary legal office for the world's leading aviation and aerospace regulatory authority, AGC also engages with matters of direct relevance to commercial space transportation, airspace integration, and international aviation law.
The Law Honors Intern Program offers substantive placements to current law students across AGC's practice areas, including International Affairs and National Security Law — a division of particular relevance to the space law and policy community given the FAA's Office of Commercial Space Transportation mandate. Interns work directly with senior staff on live matters, receive mentoring and career development support, participate in brown bag sessions with senior leaders, and make offsite visits to FAA and NTSB facilities.
Internships are available full-time in summer and part-time in fall and spring semesters, based primarily at FAA headquarters in Washington, DC. Academic credit may be available. Applications are processed through USAJOBS.gov.
