About the position

U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command (SSC) is the primary acquisition and development arm of the Space Force, responsible for developing, acquiring, and sustaining space capabilities for national defence. The SSC/SW directorate covers Space Based Sensing and Targeting — a portfolio at the heart of US space-based intelligence, surveillance, and missile warning capabilities. This Chief of International Affairs position is the senior advisor driving international collaboration across the SSC/SW portfolio. The postholder will lead Foreign Military Sales (FMS) cases from initial financial pricing through to final execution; negotiate complex international cooperative agreements including MOUs and project agreements; coordinate directly with the US Space Force, DoD, and foreign allies to resolve technology-transfer, security, and industrial-base challenges; and advise senior leadership on international partnership opportunities, risks, and execution options. The role sits at the intersection of space acquisition, defence diplomacy, and security cooperation — building and strengthening allied partnerships that integrate foreign requirements into next-generation US space acquisition programmes. For space policy professionals with backgrounds in defence acquisition and international security cooperation, this is a senior supervisory position with direct influence over how allied nations access and contribute to US space capabilities. TS/SCI clearance required; US citizenship mandatory. This announcement closes after 5 business days or 75 applications — whichever comes first.
