EUSPA is seeking an EU Space Market Officer to join its Market, Downstream and Innovation Department in Prague. The role centres on accelerating market uptake of EU Space Programme services — including Galileo, EGNOS, Copernicus, GOVSATCOM and IRIS² — and fostering the growth of innovative companies, start-ups and SMEs across Europe. Key responsibilities include implementing contracts and grants, coordinating the EU Space Academy, supporting the CASSINI entrepreneurship initiative, and developing a Member States Dashboard to monitor space ecosystem competitiveness. The officer will also build partnerships with industry, investors and innovation hubs, and contribute to reporting for the European Commission and EUSPA governance bodies. This is a five-year temporary agent contract (AD5) with possibility of renewal, requiring relocation to Prague and EU CONFIDENTIAL security clearance.
Completed university studies of at least three years attested by a diploma Nationality of an EU Member State, Iceland, Norway or Switzerland Full rights as a citizen and fulfilment of military service obligations Thorough knowledge (minimum C1) of one EU language and satisfactory knowledge (minimum B2) of another EU language Excellent written and spoken English Experience working with high-level public or private stakeholders Experience working in or with start-ups or programmes supporting innovative companies Experience in project management including contractual, monitoring and financial matters Knowledge of EU space technologies, their potential markets, technology or applications Ability and willingness to obtain EU CONFIDENTIAL personnel security clearance Effective communication and transversal collaboration skills Result orientation, flexibility and adaptability
