Lanteris Space LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Intuitive Machines — the Houston-based company that successfully delivered the first US commercial lunar lander to the Moon's surface in 2024 under NASA's CLPS programme, and is now building the infrastructure for the next era of space operations across LEO, GEO, lunar, interplanetary, and deep space. Lanteris Space focuses on satellite and spacecraft manufacturing, supporting civil space, national security, commercial, and international programmes. This Counsel position serves as the primary legal adviser for assigned spacecraft programmes and business matters, reporting to the Lanteris Space General Counsel. The portfolio spans the full business lifecycle — from capture and proposal development through contract formation, programme execution, disputes, and closeout — covering US government, commercial, and international customer agreements; subcontracts and teaming agreements; FAR/DFARS/NASA FAR Supplement compliance; intellectual property and data rights; classified information, CUI, and cybersecurity requirements; export controls; and government audits and disputes. For space law practitioners with government contracting backgrounds, this is a substantive in-house role at one of the most operationally active commercial lunar and spacecraft companies in the US — with direct engagement across NASA, national security, and international programme frameworks. The role can be based in Palo Alto or fully remote within the US. US citizenship and eligibility for security clearance are required.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited US law school Active bar membership in good standing in at least one US state; ability to satisfy in-house counsel registration requirements Minimum 7 years of relevant legal experience in-house, private practice, or with the US government Demonstrated experience advising on US government contracts, FAR, and DFARS Experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex contracts US citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance Ability to travel domestically and internationally Desirable: experience supporting aerospace, defence, spacecraft, or complex technology programmes Desirable: knowledge of government IP regimes including software and technical data license rights Desirable: experience with export controls, cybersecurity, CUI, or international transactions Desirable: experience with government audits, internal investigations, or contract disputes
