The Faculty of Law at the University of Copenhagen is recruiting two postdoctoral researchers to join the Avant-Courts project at iCourts, Centre of Excellence for International Courts and Governance, with positions starting 1 February 2027 for 2–3 years. The project, led by Professor Mikael Rask Madsen, investigates the transformation of the global legal order driven by new hybrid courts at the frontiers of the global economy, including in outer space, virtual spaces, and new economic spaces. Successful candidates are expected to contribute to the project's exploration of space adjudication or virtual courts, though proposals in adjacent fields of international and transnational adjudication are also welcomed. The roles involve independent peer-reviewed research, participation in international conferences, research stays abroad, and contributions to undergraduate and graduate teaching. This is a significant opportunity for legal scholars interested in how emerging jurisdictional actors and litigation hubs are reshaping international governance frameworks, including the fast-developing field of space law and dispute resolution.
