Delta Solutions and Strategies is a defence and national security consulting firm supporting senior US government and military clients. This Space Strategy and Policy SME position is embedded within the US Space Force (USSF) Deputy Chief of Space Operations for Strategy, Plans, Programs, and Requirements (SF/S5/8) at the Pentagon, working directly within the Strategy and Policy Directorate (SF/S5S). The postholder will support the delivery of integrated Service space strategies, policies, and requirements to provide organised, trained, and equipped space forces for employment by Joint Force Commanders. This includes formulating and implementing space-related policies and programmes aligned with national security objectives; coordinating across national security strategies, DoD directives, and Service-level guidance; producing executive-quality written products including strategy documents, policy papers, and briefings; and engaging with Service HQ, DoD agencies, and intelligence community staffs. This is one of the most substantive space policy advisory roles available in the Washington national security community — embedded at the apex of USSF's strategy and policy function with daily interaction with senior Space Force leadership. An active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility is mandatory. US citizenship required.
Master's degree in Space Policy, International Relations, National Security, or a related field 15-20+ years of experience in space policy, strategic planning, or a related national security field Experience supporting Service HQ, DoD agencies, or intelligence community staffs Demonstrated ability to formulate and implement space-related policies and programmes aligned with national security strategies Strong executive writing and oral presentation skills including preparation of senior leader briefings Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (mandatory) US citizenship required
