About the position

CesiumAstro is a US-headquartered developer of advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms, operating at the intersection of commercial space, defence, and telecommunications. Its German operations support European programme delivery across defence, aerospace, space, and high-technology sectors — operating in one of the most complex dual-use export control environments in the world. This Trade Compliance Manager leads and builds CesiumAstro's integrated trade compliance programme across Germany, serving as the principal subject matter expert on German, EU, and US export controls, customs compliance, sanctions, import procedures, Free Trade Agreements, and the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. The postholder will act as the primary liaison with BAFA, German Customs (Zoll), and the European Commission on all trade regulatory matters, manage ITAR, EAR, and OFAC compliance for European operations, and partner across Engineering, Programmes, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Legal. For legal and compliance professionals with backgrounds in aerospace, defence, or satellite trade compliance, this role offers a senior, autonomous position at one of the most operationally active US space companies in Europe — with direct engagement with the regulatory architecture governing dual-use space and defence technology flows across the Atlantic.
