The European Association of Remote Sensing Companies (EARSC) is Europe's only trade association dedicated to advancing Earth Observation (EO), representing over 130 companies from 24 countries before European institutions and international bodies including ESA. Its Brussels secretariat — a team of nine — works at the intersection of space policy, industrial competitiveness, and EU legislative processes, engaging with the European Commission, Parliament, Council, and relevant agencies on behalf of the EO downstream industry. This Policy Officer role is a core hire for EARSC's policy function, responsible for monitoring EU legislative developments affecting the EO services sector, producing position papers and policy analyses, maintaining dialogue with key institutional stakeholders, and managing the policy dimensions of ESA and EC-funded projects. The postholder will represent EARSC at meetings and international events, contribute to the annual EARSC Industry Survey, and support the organisation of conferences and stakeholder meetings across Europe. For space policy professionals with backgrounds in EU affairs and the Earth Observation or broader space sector, this is an excellent opportunity to shape industry positions on regulatory developments — including Green Deal, space data governance, and defence-related policy — at the core institutional level of the European EO ecosystem. The role is permanent under Belgian law, based in Brussels, and filled on a rolling basis. Only candidates with a European work permit are considered.
