U.S. Space Command (USSPACECOM) is the combatant command responsible for joint space operations across all domains. The J84 Orbital Warfare Branch is one of USSPACECOM's most operationally focused directorates, dedicated to ensuring future space warfighters have the most capable orbital warfare tools available — encompassing Orbital Warfare, Space Domain Awareness, and Command and Control capabilities. This Program Analyst position integrates technical and programmatic information from USSPACECOM programme areas to develop and advocate for commander's priorities through the PPBE process. The postholder will analyse, develop, and evaluate recommendations on space operations issues; direct activities for the Orbital Warfare Division; represent USSPACECOM in engagements with the Joint Staff, OSD, interagency partners, coalition partners, and academic and industry colleagues; and prepare and deliver briefings, advocacy sessions, and strategy presentations to senior leaders. This is one of the most operationally sensitive civilian space security roles in the U.S. government, requiring knowledge of orbital mechanics, the EW spectrum, cyber, long-range kill chains, and missile defence alongside the analytical skills to translate this expertise into programmatic advocacy. The billet is expected to remain in Colorado Springs through at least 2031. A TS/SCI security clearance is required. Knowledge of qualitative and/or quantitative methods for assessment of military command-level plans and programmes including Orbital Warfare, Space Domain Awareness, and C2 Knowledge of military space operations expertise as applied to programmes and weapons systems Moderate to expert understanding of orbital mechanics, the EW spectrum, space launch, cyber, long-range kill chains, and missile defence Ability to plan, organise, and negotiate effectively with senior analysts and management Strong oral and written communication skills for senior leadership and congressional audiences Previous experience at Combatant Command and/or Service/Joint Staff/OSD-level staff highly desired Must obtain and maintain TS/SCI security clearance US citizenship required Submit 2-page resume directly to Mr. Brian Gross at brian.gross.4@usspacecom.mil by COB 15 August 2026
