The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is seeking an executive-level professional to serve as Counsellor, Space Affairs at the Embassy of Canada in Paris on a three-year assignment. This is one of the most senior space diplomacy postings available in the Canadian federal public service, positioning the successful candidate at the heart of Canada's engagement with the European space ecosystem. The Counsellor will lead Canada's bilateral and multilateral space engagement in Europe: representing Canada at international forums and high-level meetings, providing strategic advice to CSA leadership and other federal organisations, supporting ministerial and executive visits, and advancing the competitiveness of Canada's space sector in European markets. A central dimension of the role is strengthening collaboration with the European Space Agency and national space agencies — including CNES, DLR, ASI, and others — at a time when Canada-ESA relations and broader transatlantic space cooperation are of growing strategic importance. The posting is open exclusively to employees of the Canadian Space Agency occupying a substantive EX, EX equivalent, or EX-1 position. The salary remains that of the incumbent's substantive position (at-level assignment). Bilingual proficiency in English and French at the CBC/CBC level is mandatory, and eligibility to obtain a Top Secret security clearance is required.
