The Space Generation Advisory Council (SGAC) is a global non-governmental organisation representing university students and young space professionals to the United Nations, space agencies, industry, and academia. SGAC holds a unique institutional position as the primary youth-led voice in UN COPUOS processes, and its members actively contribute to space law, policy, sustainability, and security debates at the international level through its project groups — including Space Law and Policy, Space Safety and Sustainability, Space and Cyber Security, and Commercial Space. SGAC is recruiting National Points of Contact (NPoCs) for dozens of countries across Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East, and the Americas for the 2026-2028 term. NPoCs are SGAC's country-level representatives, acting as the primary interface between SGAC and national space student and young professional communities. Responsibilities include representing SGAC nationally, building and maintaining local volunteer networks, contributing to national space policy discussions, organising events and outreach activities, and reporting to the relevant Regional Coordinator. For early-career space policy professionals, this volunteer role offers a direct pathway into SGAC's institutional structures, eligibility for SGAC scholarships and conference fee waivers, invitations to attend UN COPUOS meetings as part of the official SGAC delegation, and recognition as part of SGAC's international team. The estimated time commitment is 2-7 hours per week. The term is two years, renewable once.
