Neapolis University Pafos (NUP) is a leading private university in Cyprus with over 3,500 students across on-campus and distance-learning programmes. Its Department of History, Politics and International Studies maintains a growing research profile in international relations, European studies, geopolitics, security, governance, diplomacy, and technology-policy interactions, and participates in the EMERGE European University Alliance, UNESCO-related initiatives, and Jean Monnet actions. This Assistant Professor appointment supports the strategic expansion of NUP's conventional undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in International Relations and Security, which are due to welcome their first cohort — including Erasmus students — from September 2026. The postholder will contribute to on-campus teaching in Paphos across areas including international relations, international security, strategic studies, European security and defence, geopolitics, foreign policy analysis, intelligence and security studies, and technology, security and global governance. The role also encompasses postgraduate dissertation and doctoral supervision, curriculum development, internationalisation and Erasmus activities, and contribution to the Department's research and institutional profile. Applicants with research interests at the intersection of international relations, security, technology, AI, and governance — including space security — are particularly encouraged. Preference is given to candidates willing to reside in Pafos.
